A Russian strike on a residential neighborhood in Kharkiv killed a 40-year-old woman and seriously injured her two children on Monday morning, according to local Ukrainian officials. Ten other people were also reported injured in the attack. Video recorded at 8:59 a.m. local time captured the moment the munition exploded among homes in the city's Slobidskyi district under an overcast sky.
Authorities said the woman died at the scene, while her children and the other injured victims were taken to hospital for treatment. Emergency crews responded quickly as rescue operations got underway. Kharkiv, located near Ukraine's northeastern border, has been repeatedly targeted since the start of the war, with residential areas frequently coming under attack. The latest strike adds to growing concerns over the continued impact of the conflict on civilians as fighting persists across Ukraine.
