New York City police are investigating a video showing three people emerging from a manhole in Manhattan, months after similar incidents raised public concern. The footage, posted on TikTok Friday, appears to show three individuals wearing overalls and headlamps climbing out of a manhole near 32nd Street and Seventh Avenue, close to Penn Station and Madison Square Garden. According to the person who shared the video, the incident occurred shortly after 4 a.m. Tuesday.
A New York Police Department spokesperson confirmed that authorities were aware of the video, adding that no arrests had been made and the investigation remained ongoing. Meanwhile, the city’s Environmental Protection Department said an inspection of nearby sewers found no damage to the infrastructure. Officials emphasized that entering New York City’s sewer system is illegal and extremely dangerous, urging people to stay away from underground infrastructure.
