Multiple fights and disturbances involving groups of teenagers broke out Sunday night, August 16, during the final day of the Wisconsin State Fair in West Allis, Wisconsin, prompting police to clear part of the fairgrounds.
The disturbances erupted near the Spin City ride area as the fair was closing. Several large groups became involved in physical altercations, with at least one police officer reportedly punched while officers attempted to restore order.
Law enforcement from the fair’s police department and surrounding agencies, including West Allis police, responded and cleared the midway area.
Officials also moved quickly to address false rumors of an active shooter. Authorities confirmed that no shots were fired, no active shooter was present, and no weapons were involved in the disturbances. A fire alarm was also reportedly pulled near the Cream Puff Pavilion during the chaos.
Despite the multiple altercations, officials said no serious injuries were reported. The incidents occurred as crowds gathered for the fair’s closing night.
