Russian city Kazan has entered the record books after 430 dancers performed a synchronized breakdancing routine at the 18th COMBOnation International Tournament. Footage filmed between Wednesday and Thursday shows hundreds of dancers gathering at the Central Stadium and performing the iconic “windmill” move together.
The Tatarstan Ministry of Sport said the record attempt marked 40 years of breakdancing in the republic. Participants aged between eight and 50 traveled from 127 cities across Russia, while dancers from Taiwan, Japan, Germany and Kazakhstan also joined the event. German breakdancer Lil Amok verified the achievement under the 2H2B World Records system. The COMBOnation festival, celebrating breaking and street art, is being held in Kazan from August 19 to 23.
