The Eiffel Tower in Paris was illuminated in blue and yellow to mark the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence, in a symbolic show of solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
The display was part of an evening event held at Trocadéro Square, organized to honor Ukraine and strengthen ties between the Ukrainian and French communities. The Embassy of Ukraine in France reported the illumination as part of the commemorations.
The ceremony was opened by Paris Mayor Emmanuel Grégoire and Ukraine’s Ambassador to France, Vadym Omelchenko. Ukrainians living in France, members of the wider Ukrainian community, and French supporters and partners of Ukraine attended the event.
The Ukrainian choir Zerniatko also performed during the gathering, adding music and cultural significance to the evening of solidarity.
