At least seven people, including three children, were killed after a drone struck a crowded beach near the village of Arkhipo-Osipovka in Russia's southern Krasnodar region. The attack also left 40 people injured, with 17 requiring hospital treatment, according to regional governor Veniamin Kondratyev.
Verified social media footage showed the drone flying toward a cliff before exploding in a fireball on the beach as tourists watched from the shore and sea. Russian authorities accused Ukraine of carrying out a deliberate attack on civilians, though Kyiv has not commented on the incident. Both Russia and Ukraine have consistently denied intentionally targeting civilians during the conflict.
The exact target of the drone remains unclear. Some Ukrainian Telegram channels claimed the drone may have crashed after its signal was disrupted by electronic warfare. Witnesses cited by Russian media reported hearing gunfire before the explosion, suggesting air defense systems may have attempted to intercept the drone. Residents also said no air raid sirens were sounded before the strike.
