China has unveiled a cutting-edge AI-powered robot designed to take on dangerous industrial jobs that often put human workers at risk. Built specifically for hazardous environments, the wall-climbing machine can be remotely operated by a worker wearing a VR headset, allowing complex tasks to be completed from a safe location.
A video shared by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian shows the robot effortlessly scaling a vertical steel wall at a construction site while carrying out high-risk operations. Instead of exposing workers to hazardous heights or unstable conditions, the robot is engineered to handle these challenging tasks, helping reduce workplace accidents.
Unlike traditional humanoid robots, it uses powerful magnetic wheels instead of legs, enabling it to securely attach to steel surfaces and move both vertically and horizontally across structures such as storage tanks, ships, bridges, and industrial facilities. Its upper body features two robotic arms capable of precision work, including welding, grinding, polishing, inspection, maintenance, and rust removal.
