A bride in the Philippines went ahead with her wedding despite severe flooding, wading through waist-deep water to reach the altar.
Liean Liza Chico married her partner, Gilbert Chico, at St John the Baptist Parish in Hagonoy, Bulacan, in Central Luzon on September 1. Heavy rain had flooded the area, leaving the church partially submerged.
Footage from the unusual ceremony shows Liean wearing a white wedding gown and veil as she carefully makes her way through the murky floodwater toward the altar. Photographers could also be seen standing waist-deep in water to capture the extraordinary moment.
Despite the difficult conditions, the couple refused to postpone their special day. Family members and close friends gathered inside the flooded church to witness the ceremony.
Liean’s family waited in the flooded aisle before accompanying her toward the groom, turning the wedding into an unforgettable celebration of love and determination amid challenging weather conditions.
